Personal Health Insurance

There are really two forms of personal health insurance. The first is the actual insurance, by which I mean that personal health insurance is insurance purchased outside of a group insurance policy and has nothing to do with being self-employed. It does not mean for just one person since a personal health insurance policy may be purchased for a family. Personal health insurance, in this form, is really the kind of insurance someone buys for themselves when they have a job that does not include benefits and they are not self-employed. The premiums for personal health insurance tend to be quite high and sometimes it can be difficult to get an insure to offer you a policy depending on your current health and health history, that is if it is not state law for them to offer you a policy no matter what.

The second form of personal health insurance is arguably the more important of the two and should at least be the more obvious. Taking care of yourself is the optimal individual health care insurance. Stop smoking, eat right, exercise more, visit your doctor for a checkup and ask questions and be honest about anything he asks, and try to get more sleep. All these things build up a stronger personal health insurance than any insurance company can offer.

There are very few things more important than your own health. So obviously having personal health insurance in the form of getting into shape and living a long rich life should be something all people strive to attain. Yes, it can be difficult to get this kind of personal health insurance, perhaps even more difficult than getting an insurer to offer you a policy, but it’s worth it.

You can eat more green vegetables. You can stop smoking. You can give up soda. In fact, everyone should give up soda. It’s a huge detriment to personal health insurance in both forms. Why? Because it’s nothing more than sugared water. You get nothing from drinking soda. No nutrients or anything. It’s nothing more than a can of empty calories.

And you can start running every day. Better yet, you can get that exercise bike and ride it for a half hour or more ever single day. That will be great when winter comes and you can’t go outside and run. It sounds difficult now, but this is your personal health insurance! You’ll get into better shape and health and soon it won’t seem as hard.

All this exercise and eating right might seem horrendous at first, but you’ll get used to it. It won’t be nearly as hard as sifting through the personal health insurance market trying to find the right policy to invest in for you and your family. Just think of what you could be doing instead of sitting there, loafing around on the couch.

You could be walking the dog, swimming a few laps at the local pool, or strolling down to the bookstore to browse through the new paperbacks. Building a personal health insurance policy through getting into better shape doesn’t always have to mean killing yourself in the gym. It sometimes means just being more active and not so lazy.
